I have been stupidly busy lately, so here's an update.I attended a fun show a couple weeks ago. I learned two important things: Jumping Figure 8 and Key Race need a lot of work. Every horse there spooked at the jump and the key race. Look up the dimensions. Get your horse desensitized . And have fun!

Speed Dash Tips
Speed Dash is always categorized as an easy game. But is it really? Many people come into speed dash with the assumption it is only about being fast and that there isn't much technique to it. WRONG! Being the fastest time doesn't just mean going fast, it means quick snappy turns. A slower horse with a quick turn could very possibly beat a horse with a sloppy turn. The best advice is to push hard 90% of the way, then begin to slow down for the turn. Then, make sure you don't cut the turn off. Push past the barrel so you feel as though you've going too far. Then grab your inside rein and snap your horse back around the turn smoothly. You're looking to create a U, not a V. Then ride hard all the way home. If your horse does a sloppy turn, don't worry too much about it, and always do your best. Gaming is a fun sport, and we can't ever forget that!

Pole Weaving Stuff
Pole weaving stuff
So today I was practicing with my horse on pole weaving and I have a few tips for you for a TURNY horse. 1. Always use a looser rein because if it's too tight and you pull too hard by accident you could hit the pole. 2. Don't draw your rein out, draw it up. If you draw your rein up to your thigh just slightly, your horse will make the turn well. 3. Finally, just ride. If your horse is too turny, don't over think the process.. Chances are it knows the pattern well.

Well, I am happy to say that I have tried gaming in an English saddle. For anyone that can, trying it is a fun opportunity. I rode my friend's star English horse through a pole weaving pattern in an English saddle and she did better than my gaming horse! Try it if you can. Maybe English gaming can become a "thing".
